while the national income of this country became $67.

이 나라는 1950년대에 전쟁으로 인해 완전히 황폐화 되었습니다.

1950년대에 이나라의 국가소득이 50달러였으며, 세계에서 가장가난한 나라 중의 하나였습니다.

"이 나라가 전쟁으로 부터 다시 회복하려면 앞으로 100여년이 걸릴것 입니다."  - 맥아더 장군.

그는 1950년도에 미국으로부터 이나라를 돕기위해 왔습니다.

어느 영어신문에 의하면 "이 나라는 36년간의 식민지 시대를 겪었고, 전쟁마저 겪은 나라로서, 사람들은 이 나라가 다시 일어나는것(부흥) 보다는 차라리 쓰레기 더미에서 꽃이 피는 것을 기대하는 편이 더 나을 것이다."라고 했다.

 

1950년대 '가나'와 '필리핀'의 국민소득은 100달러와 200달러를 넘어섰을 때, 이 나라의 국민소득은 67달러에 불과 했다.
